Dinner @ Toyotomi 豐臣家

sashimi
ordering sashimi and other premium food is extra $8 per person
all nice and fat
like how even all you can eat place have ice underneath

left: chicken soup, right:milky soup
ordered different bases but tasted same
takoyaki was good but missing mayo, however don't think its freshly made
fries similar to KFC ones
all fried food not oily, most don't use batter
beef sashimi

wrong order came and we emphasized we don't want to waste the food (and end up paying)
told them to take back the wrong stuff
charges they gave for wasted food

Toyotomi 豐臣家
110 - 8111 Anderson Road
Richmond, BC V6Y 2C1
(778) 297-6186

-fried stuff came first then followed by sashimi and hotpot
-we sat in a corner and we had to walk out to get service
-they try to slow down your orders near need so you got to chase them down
-average $30 per person, worth it if you can eat the value
-much more variety than all other all you can places and much better quality
-really good all you can eat, took too long for me to discover it
-only downside is table too small and they place everything in one bowl so its hard to share for a big group

Style: all you can eat, hotpot, japanese

Noah's ship sashimi set
all was nice and fresh
sexy roll
rainbow roll
volcano roll
unagi fried rice
not too much unagi
strong soya sauce taste
nice and chewy
mozza udon
cheese taste not too strong
wasn't as excited as i tasted it

-rolls were somewhat pricey but had a lot of variety of unique ones
-spicy stuff were really spicy, even my friend who like spicy food thought so
-friend said lunch menu is different from dinner
-served pretty good green tea, not watered out ones
-kitchen food came faster than sushi
-only a few tables filled on a week night
-comfy booths to sit in
-our average was $16/person as we weren't that hungry

Lunch @ Izumi-Ya Japanese

failed to eat before quality dropped but still pretty good

only shrimp tempura was popular therefore fresh

calms were not too clean, lots still with sand
shrimp tempura was fresh and crispy but batter too thick
same quality as ones sold in supermarket

plain milk ice-cream
could have spent a little money to add in some matcha powder

Izumi-Ya Japanese
160 - 7971 Alderbridge Way
Richmond, BC V6X 2A4
(604) 303-1171

- a lot of people complaining about the increase in price and the drop in quality, this was a marketing scheme to lure customers in the beginning and they were successful, without any advertisements in the opening, the place was packed
- considering the price, they're offering the same food found inside the supermarket so its well worth it
- quality for some food may not as as good
- $11.99 + tax, 1 hr limit, did not see them rushing anyone as no one was waiting outside
- went at 2ish and it was still all full
- slow in clearing plates, the staff were chatting in a corner all the time
- refill was pretty fast, the cold food are the unpopular ones, hopefully they'll swap them out for something else
- would still come once in a while just like eating other hotpot or japanese all you can eat

Style: japanese (日式), buffet, all you can eat

Lunch @ Posh

first time i went to posh was when they first opened and since then their quality have been pretty consistent. can't ask for too much for their price compared to hk style hotpot. they had some groupon deals at red pocket so decided to buy some after not visiting for a long while. after buying them, heard that their business were not as great as before so they needed such to push for more business

has beef taste, better than all you can eat at hk style hotpot
fried yam was pretty good
lycee drink
deal came with bottomless drinks
too sweet, all pre-mixed

Posh
1123-3779 Sexsmith Rd
 Richmond, BC V6X 3Z9
(604) 303-7674

- really hard to estimate how much to order, they give you what you order but the amount is random every time
- not all groupon are good deals in general, best are the gift certificate/money valued ones
- had to pay taxes and 15% service charge on top of the groupon while service was average
- only one server for whole lunch hour
- went at 12:30 and there was no one, then eventually filled the first floor
- sukiyaka once in a while is fine but would prefer hk style hotpot more

Lunch @ Ebisu Japanese Restaurant

whenever i want sushi for lunch, i think of ebisu. but haven't been here for over a year as i've been eating alone all this time and would only buy takeouts (don't need to pay tips). realized they renovated and even moved the entrance. my favourite thing at this place is building my own combo

all lunch combos comes with free miso soup
dynamite roll
average
chikuwa cheese
freshly fried and cheese won't be too strong
however sauce is a bit too salty
chicken terriyaki don
average
osaka combo
tempuras are well made

Ebisu Japanese Restaurant
100-8111 Ackroyd Rd
Richmond BC V6X 3J9
(604) 270-4846

-went at 12ish and no one was eating there at all;when we left, only around 6 tables filled
-environment is pretty good and has a lot of tvs around
-can't compare to downtown location
-average food but still like coming here
