Five Guys Burgers and Fries

did some cross border shopping and decided to give this place a try after hearing about it. has location in vancouver as well but everything in states is cheaper so... decided to give my first time down south

baby cheeseburger and large fries
generously over flowing filled fries
free unlimited peanuts
not a lot of people were eating but they were awesome
not too salty and crunchy, seems pretty fresh
open kitchen
don't really agree to the banners
piles of bags of potatoes and more peanuts
coke fan finally meeting this cool new machine

Five Guys Burgers and Fries
1301 W. Bakerview Road
Bellingham, WA 98226

-wasn't as good as i expected, like In-N-Out more which is also cheaper
-beef patties were fresh like they said but the bun is too soft and somewhat soggy feeling
-fries were fresh and not too oily, but somehow wanted crispy ones at that moment so they didn't please me
-have the say the best stuff were the free stuff, the peanuts, the malt vinegar, and the free toppings
-a place people with nut allergies should avoid
-still worth a try if never been

Lunch @ Kyung Bok Palace

haven't been here after they discontinued the $2X for 5 dishes and went to other korean places instead. always passed by and saw their new menu so came to try. the new menu is similar to hk style restaurants which comes with a drink or soup and pricing is similar

bbq beef ribs
somewhat tender and easy to bite through
meal came with 4 side dishes and a soup and rice
seafood tofu soup
lots of tofu and few seafood
light tasting but probably added msg
seafood pancake
came sizzling hot
a bit too much flour and not crispy enough compared to jin mo jib
bibimbap
tasting good as usual
previous one in pick 5 menu was not served in rock bowl
bibimbap came with this lousy, airless drink
there's suppose to be a bunch of drinks (milk tea, iced tea) to choose from but waitress said only have soft drinks left, probably don't want to make the other drinks

Kyung Bok Palace 景福宮
5300 #3 Rd (Lansdowne Centre)
Richmond, BC
(604) 207-1120

-average price of a meal is $9
-if willing to pay more, i would say go for the all you can eat
-service slow as usual, took forever to get the bill
-good things about this place is probably the comfy seating and easy parking

Lunch @ The Jade Seafood Restaurant 玉庭軒魚翅海鮮酒家

went for early tea for mother's day to avoid to wait and for 20% discount. just some quick snaps of their new dim sum

black truffle roast cha siu (BBQ pork) pastry
nothing special about the black truffle part
pan-fried tofu skin roll
crispy skin and not too oily
thai style stuffed eggplant
strong lemon grass taste
fusion cuisine thats is very different from traditional
prefer fried stuffed eggplant instead

Afternoon Tea @ Bubble World 大頭仔

it's been a while since hearing that bubble world had afternoon tea special that start at 2:30. having not eaten lunch, went right at 2:30. the moment i stepped inside i knew why they needed such deals. opposite world compared to weekend lunch/nights

always loved their honey green milk tea
additional pearl / jelly is free
milk crust almond toast
could be better, not as good as the one at pearl castle
fried squid
won't be too salty
nicely fried throughout
like how its plained fried and no batter

Bubble World 大頭仔
1136 - 8328 Capstan Way
Richmond, BC V6X 2H6
(604) 232-5222

-$6.45 including tax for a snack and a drink priced at $4.95
-awesome deal, like additional dollar for the snack
-snacks include mostly fried stuff or toasts
-quality is retained and not affected by the deal
-a different choice from hk style restaurant's afternoon sets
-i always order half sweet and otherwise regular is way too sweet

Lunch @ Posh

first time i went to posh was when they first opened and since then their quality have been pretty consistent. can't ask for too much for their price compared to hk style hotpot. they had some groupon deals at red pocket so decided to buy some after not visiting for a long while. after buying them, heard that their business were not as great as before so they needed such to push for more business

has beef taste, better than all you can eat at hk style hotpot
fried yam was pretty good
lycee drink
deal came with bottomless drinks
too sweet, all pre-mixed

Posh
1123-3779 Sexsmith Rd
 Richmond, BC V6X 3Z9
(604) 303-7674

- really hard to estimate how much to order, they give you what you order but the amount is random every time
- not all groupon are good deals in general, best are the gift certificate/money valued ones
- had to pay taxes and 15% service charge on top of the groupon while service was average
- only one server for whole lunch hour
- went at 12:30 and there was no one, then eventually filled the first floor
- sukiyaka once in a while is fine but would prefer hk style hotpot more

Oysters - The Lobster Man

missed the oyster deal on groupon but by this found out that theres a place that sells oysters in granville island outside the market. prices are decent too

mostly bc oysters but also have few washington varieties

summer breeze
somewhat creamy and not too salty
